Rachel Thompson, AIA

Partner

As a Partner at Northworks, Rachel’s background is built in a deep knowledge of modern and sustainable building practices. Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Miami University, with a focus on Art & Architectural History, and was awarded for her work on the design-build of a women’s marketplace in Ghana, Africa.

She is certified as a LEED AP, BD+C and is a NCARB licensed architect.  Her career began with a focus on community and sustainability in design, as she spent nearly 10 years at an environmentally focused design firm. During that time, she expanded her passion for residential design as a regular contributor to the online shelter magazine, Apartment Therapy.

Rachel was drawn to Northworks in 2013 for the diversity of projects in the firm’s portfolio and the fresh outlook and detailed approach to the design process. Since joining the team, she has contributed greatly to Northworks projects nationwide from our Tributary project in Idaho to private residences in Joshua Tree, Lake Tahoe, the Bahamas and beyond. Her design experience transcends all styles and she takes great pride in working with clients closely to represent their intentions throughout the design process.

Outside of her architectural endeavors, Rachel loves to spend time with her family, travel and expand her creativity in learning to play the piano.
